Works of two Taiwanese artists, Chou Tung-yen and Hsieh Wen-yee, have been selected for this year's Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF), which will take place from Nov. 1 to Nov. 10.
The Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale in Japan is set to take place from July 13 to Nov. 10. This year, artworks from Taiwanese art group Fieldoffice Architects and Taiwanese illustrator Jimmy Liao have been invited to be featured at the event. 
The 44th Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF), set to take place from Oct. 2 to Nov. 10, has nominated three Taiwanese films in the NETPAC Award. The nominated films are "Hunter Brothers," "Dead Talents Society," and "Who'll Stop the Rain."

The winners of the 2024 Taiwan Literature Awards (TLA) for Books were revealed on Nov. 1. The Annual Golden Grand Laurel Award was awarded to Ping Lu for her novel "Passing".

Painter Chen Huei-tung passed away on Nov. 1 at the age of 87. Upon hearing the news, Minister of Culture Li Yuan expressed his deepest condolences, and praised Chen's life-long contributions to the promotion of art.

To showcase the artworks of cut-and-paste ceramics artist Chen San-Huo, the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI) launched the "Destiny Calls - Chen San-Huo's Jiannian Art Special Exhibition" on Nov. 2 in Taipei.

Ran In-ting, also known as Lan Ying-ding, is a renowned Taiwanese watercolor artist. Born in 1903 in a farming village of Yilan during the period of Japanese rule, Ran showed his extraordinary talent in arts since childhood. After graduating from Luodong Public Elementary School, Ran served as an art teacher at his alma mater in 1920.

Located in Changhua City, the Changhua Roundhouse was built in 1922, the same year the coastal railway was completed and the Changhua Station became a major hub for train maintenance and dispatch. Today, the Changhua Roundhouse is the only remaining roundhouse in Taiwan.
