From Oct. 21 to 29, the Global Taiwan Institute (GTI) will feature a diverse selection of eight Taiwanese films and documentaries, as well as Q&A sessions with the directors of two selected films as part of the 2022 Taiwanese Film Week, GTI's third annual virtual film festival. All will be streamed for free on Vimeo.
Ten Taiwanese films have been selected to be screened at the 2022 London East Asia Film Festival from Oct. 22 through 29 at five venues around London. This year's program includes the cinematic offerings of China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia and consists of seven strands.
Taiwanese scholar Hsin-Chin Evelyn Hsieh, author Chen Yu-chin, and documentary director Wu Yu-ying are on a lecture and screening tour to introduce Taiwan literature and film to faculty and students in the U.S., with the goal to connect the United States and Taiwan on issues pertaining to transnational migration, race, and more.
