The Cinematheque, a Canadian film institute and media education centre, is hosting a screening event titled "Are You Lonesome Tonight? The Films of Edward Yang" from Mar. 28 to Apr. 29.
The exhibition "Sing With a Pen: The Heavenly Voices of Taiwan's Indigenous Literature" marks the first showcase of Taiwan's indigenous literature in Ireland. This exhibition takes place at the Taipei Representative Office in Ireland.
"The Boy from Clearwater," the compelling graphic novel series from Taiwan, depicts the true story of Mr. Tsai Kun-lin (1930-2023), who endured a decade of imprisonment during Taiwan's tumultuous authoritarian era, known as the White Terror.

The Ministry of Culture announced the 43rd National Cultural Award recipients on Apr. 22, praising outstanding cultural workers in the country. This year, scholar Fu Chao-ching, photographer Juan I-jong, and late poet Lin Heng-tai were honored.

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature is currently hosting the "2024 United Nations of Stories" program from Apr. 20 to Oct. 26. This program aims to share picture books and stories from around the world with children in the country.

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature is currently accepting applications for the "2024 Writers-in-Residence of Taiwan Literature Base" program. This residency offers a 7 to 30-day stay between August 2024 and July 2025.
Cultural Features
Sun Chu-hua, a member of the Puyuma people, one of Taiwan's indigenous groups, was born and raised in the Pinaski village in Beinan Township, Taitung County. In 1999, she began studying traditional Puyuma weaving under the guidance of Kao Chun-yueh from the Puyuma village.

The Taiping Steamer Memorial Park is a newly established "pocket park" housing the Taiping Steamer Monument in Keelung, which was established in 1951 to commemorate the tragic loss of life during the steamer's voyage from China to Taiwan. The memorial park aims to preserve the story of the incident.
