The Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in the U.K., in collaboration with the UK City of Culture initiative, will present the Taiwan Focus program, featuring Taiwanese performing arts groups D_Antidote Production and S. Production.
With support from the Ministry of Culture (MOC), the Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles and the Taiwan Academy in Houston are collaborating to present a film tour featuring director Tsai Ming-liang’s works in the U.S. and Mexico from Aug. 6 to 31.
The 8th Taiwan Film Festival in Australia was held at Event Cinemas in Sydney from July 24 to 27. Opening with “Daughter’s Daughter,” a film presenting a woman’s perspective on various issues, the event attracted nearly 400 viewers.

“We TAIWAN,” the Ministry of Culture’s (MOC) cultural program for the Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan, concluded on Aug. 20. Following this, nine performing arts groups are presenting the final performance, “A Ritual of Gratitude Before the Temple”.

The 36th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music was held at the Taiwan Traditional Theater Center on Aug. 23, honoring 19 awardees. Minister of Culture Li Yuan attended the ceremony and expressed gratitude to these artists.

The 2025 Taiwan Music Composition and Songwriting Contest was held at Zepp New Taipei on Aug. 23. Following performances by the finalists, Wang Pin-yu and Ku Chen-chen won the top prize in the Hakka category.
Cultural Features
At just 21 years old, he won the title of champion from the talent show “The Rappers Season 2.” Known for his distinctive use of Taigi in his music, Aquaman’s Southern Taiwanese roots set him apart in the genre. Aquaman quickly rose to prominence as one of the most promising young stars in Taiwan’s hip-hop scene.

Located in Shilin District of Taipei City, the Taipei Performing Arts Center is a dedicated performing arts and cultural facility, which has geometrical shapes with a total space area of 50,000 m2. Its construction began in 2012, and the center officially opened in July of 2022.
