'SCHIZOPHRENIA TAIWAN 2.0' IN LONDON

“Schizophrenia Taiwan 2.0,” a new media exhibition featuring 14 young Taiwanese artists, will be shown at the University of Westminster to portray the development of contemporary Taiwanese society and culture.


 'MENG XIAODONG' TO UNFOLD IN HONG KONG

Together with the Taipei Chinese Orchestra (TCO), Taiwan's GuoGuang Opera Company will re-interpret the legend of 'Meng Xiaodong' in the form of an operatic concert at the Hong Kong Cultural Grand Theatre on Oct. 31.


TAIWAN FILM SHOWCASE IN SAN DIEGO

As part of the Ministry of Culture’s “Spotlight Taiwan” global initiative, the San Diego Asian Film Festival has organized two themed sections showcasing more than a dozen unique Taiwanese productions for Nov. 6 through 15.


TAIWANESE ARTIST RE-IMAGINES LA

Taiwanese visual artist Yujun Ye will hold a solo exhibition from Nov. 7 through Dec. 12 to showcase her artistic journey upon completing a three-month residency at the prestigious 18th Street Arts Center in Santa Monica.


YILAN FESTIVAL CELEBRATES ASIA-PACIFIC HERITAGE

The 13th Asia-Pacific Traditional Arts Festival took place in Yilan from Oct. 23 to 26 to showcase the rich heritage and artistic expression shared by those cultures within the Asia-Pacific region.


THE 2014 GOLDEN BELL AWARDS

As one of 3 major annual awards presented in Taiwan — along with the Golden Melody for music and the Golden Horse for film — the Golden Bell Awards is organized by the Ministry to honor outstanding TV productions.


EMERALD INITIATIVE: OPEN CALL

Proposals will be accepted from Oct. 30 to Dec. 1, 2014 for projects that arrange for Southeast Asian personnel to visit Taiwan for cultural and artistic exchanges in 2015. Grants will be awarded in amounts up to NT$500,000 per project.


ACCELERATE@CERN: OPEN CALL

To promote innovative cross-field cooperation in science and the arts, the Republic of China (Taiwan) Ministry of Culture and the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN) have come together to create Accelerate@CERN TAIWAN.


'REVOLUTION/RENAISSANCE'

The National Museum of History has teamed up with Southeast Asian institutes to co-sponsor an exhibition on Liu Kuo-sung, an artist who has strung the East with the West and the ancient with the contemporary.


'HOME ECONOMICS: SIDELINE WORK IN TAIWAN'

The National Museum of Taiwan History will bring visitors back to the era of sideline work in the living room, which is rich in important memories of a time when many people strived hard to improve their livelihoods through labor.
