POETRY SALON LAUNCHED IN TAIWAN

The Qidong Poetry Salon will serve as the base of the Ministry’s latest flagship program, in which US$1.65 million will be devoted to organizing workshops, competitions, international forums, and festivals relating to poetry.


POPULAR DIALOGUE SERIES TO BE HELD IN HK

The Taiwan Dialogue Series organized by the Kwang Hwa Information and Culture Centre feature Taiwanese icons from creative fields, with each discussing a different topic of interest with Hong Kong audiences.


AIDING TAIWAN'S ART DEALERS

To assist Taiwan’s art dealers with their copyright and brokerage duties, the Ministry has subsidized a total of 60 art associations and galleries between 2012 and 2014 to partake in international trade fairs and shows.


TOKYO UNIVERSITY INKS SPOTLIGHT TAIWAN MOU

The Tokyo University of the Arts will organize a 12-day festival titled “The Present & Future of Modern Art in Taiwan and Japan,” which will offer art exhibitions, seminars, and artist meetings from Nov. 4 through 16.


ASIA SOCIETY JOINS SPOTLIGHT TAIWAN

Asia Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between the East and West, has signed on to become the Ministry of Culture’s latest partner in the Spotlight Taiwan global initiative.


HISTORY TOLD THROUGH RELIC PRESERVATION

The Preparatory Office of the National Human Rights Museum invited more than 50 former political prisoners from southern Taiwan to join a session on July 30 to share White Terror memorabilia with college students.


RAINBOW INITIATIVE: 2014 OPEN CALL

The Ministry is seeking to subsidize multinational and multi-disciplinary collaborative cultural projects by offering funding in amounts between NT$3 million and NT$10 million. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 1.


'RE-ENCOUNTER REALITY'

In celebration of the upcoming 9th Taiwan International Documentary Festival, the event organizers will offer a special three-week retrospective film festival showcasing 12 selected documentaries from the TIDF’s history.


'THE INHERITANCE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP: IV'

The fourth series of “The Inheritance of Craftsmanship” exhibition in Yilan will display the traditional artwork of three Taiwanese families whose craft skills have been passed down from generation to generation.


'I AM ATAYAL'

“I am Atayal,” a special exhibition detailing the process and outcome of an effort to teach Taiwan’s indigenous Atayal culture through the use of creative arts, will be held at the National Taiwan Museum through Aug. 31.
