'GLOBAL MUSIC FESTIVAL: LIVE HOUSE CONCERTS'

A total of six mini-concerts will be held ahead of the Golden Melody Awards to celebrate the role that live houses play in providing stage time for up-and-coming music artists.

As part of the first-ever Golden Melody Global Music Festival, Jay Chou’s music forum is part of a lecture series that is aimed at promoting musical education at the grassroots level.


'SUBDUED EXISTENCE'

Contemporary art from Serbia will be showcased in Taichung as part of a collection exchange project between the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina (MSUV) in Novi Sad.


'SELECTED MINERAL & ROCK COLLECTIONS'

To commemorate Okamoto Yohachiro (1876 - 1960) and his lifelong studies on Taiwanese geology, the National Taiwan Museum will showcase 20 unique geological specimens unearthed by the Japanese scholar.


'ETERNAL FRIENDSHIP'

To thank Taiwan's relief efforts after a 9.0-magnitude earthquake triggered a devastating tsunami in Japan on March 11, 2011, a group of Japanese artists will hold a joint exhibition at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.


'OBSERVING THE NATURE IN SILENCE'

“Observing the Nature in Silence” is a two-month exhibition organized by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts to offer a comprehensive retrospect of Wang Shou-ying’s artistic career.


'INDIGENOUS YOUTH ARTS FESTIVAL'

To celebrate Taiwan’s rich indigenous cultures, the National Museum of Prehistory will host the “2nd Taiwan Indigenous Youth Arts Festival” between May 30 and Sept. 14 in southeastern Taiwan.


'TAIPEI ARTS FESTIVAL'

The Taipei Arts Festival is back again this summer, hoping to introduce festival goers to the different possibilities of performing arts through a diverse lineup of theater, dance and acrobatic performances.


'MUSIC MATTERS IN SINGAPORE'

As part of the Ministry's efforts to promote Taiwanese music overseas, Rapper MC HotDog and rock bands Quarterback and The 13 Band took the stage at the Music Matters festival in Singapore in late May.


'TSCHUSS!! BUNNY'

As part of the international dance talent cultivation program BETA PUBLICA, Taiwan's Liu Yen-cheng was invited to perform his latest production “Tschuss!!Bunny” at the Paco Rabal Cultural Center in Spain.
