LITERATURE-ADAPTED FILMS TO PROMOTE READING

“Reading Time,” a 10-episode series on Taiwanese literature adapted by local filmmakers and produced by the Ministry of Culture, is set to be aired on the National Geographic channel on March 29.


TAIWANESE ILLUSTRATORS READY FOR BOLOGNA

The Ministry announced the local artists who will be featured at the 2015 Bologna Children’s Book Fair, including illustrator Sun Hsin-yu, the first Taiwanese artist to receive a Special Mention from the Bologna Ragazzi Award.

A series of warm-up events for the 2015 Golden Melody Awards, including 12 campus concerts, kicked off on March 19 as part of the government's efforts to promote Taiwan’s pop music industry.


WHITE TERROR MEMORIAL SERVICE HELD

More than a hundred people attended a March 22 memorial service co-organized by the Preparatory Office of the National Human Rights Museum for victims of Taiwan’s martial law era known as White Terror.

The Preparatory Office of the National Human Rights Museum has co-organized a series of educational events on human rights, including a special photo exhibition on the White Terror era at a New Taipei City public library.

'SKY CONCERTS' FEATURING THE NTSO

The National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO) is celebrating its 70th anniversary with 5 concerts across Taiwan from March to December. This year’s repertoire will not only include classic music, but also pop and folk music.


'TYZEN HSIAO MEMORIAL CONCERT'

In the wake of prominent Taiwanese musician Tyzen Hsiao’s death, a memorial concert will be held at the National Concert Hall in Taipei on April 5 to commend his lifelong contributions to music and culture.
