WINNERS OF POETRY PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

To cultivate new talent and expand the scope of poetry writing, the Qidong Salon initiated the “Budding Poetry Award” and the “Wandering Poet Program,” which funds local poets’ travel-and-writing plans overseas.


NMP BABY CARRIER COLLECTION ON LOAN TO NY

The National Museum of Prehistory will send its exhibition on Asia’s baby-carrying culture to the Stony Brook University and the Taiwan Academy in New York. The 47 relics will officially meet the New York public in March.


AUDIOBOOK MARKS 60TH YEAR OF DACHEN

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the historic Dachen Retreat, the National Museum of Taiwan History released an audio book detailing a conversation between a Dachen evacuee and his grandson.


TAIWANESE ROBOTIC DANCE IN NEW YORK

A new production by Taiwanese artists dancing with a robot will be taking the stage of the famous 3LD Art & Technology Center in New York in mid-February, setting a new milestone for the Ministry of Culture’s Rainbow Initiative.


ACCELERATE@CERN: OPEN CALL

To promote cross-field cooperation in science and the arts, the Republic of China (Taiwan) Ministry of Culture and the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN) have come together to create Accelerate@CERN TAIWAN.


'2015 TAIPEI INT'L BOOK EXHIBITION'

Theme country New Zealand will bring the largest-ever delegation of participating writers, Maori dancers, and woodcarvers to the 2015 Taipei International Book Exhibition from Feb. 11 to 16.


'LABORERS AND FARMERS'

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature has organized an exhibition on Taiwanese farming literature that portray the lives of the working class and contain special imagery unique to this category of works.


'THE CANNING STOCK ROUTE EXHIBITION'

A traveling exhibition from Australia will showcase aboriginal art inspired by the world’s longest historic stock route, the Canning Stock Route, at the National Taiwan Museum from Feb. 6 through March 29, 2015.


'GESTALT AESTHETICS'

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts will hold a retrospective exhibition on Tainan native Chen Huei-tung, a Taiwanese painter who specializes in realism, from Feb. 7 to April 12, 2015.


'THE ARTIST & CELEBRITY'

“The Artist and Celebrity: Long Chin-san Photography Memorial Exhibition on the 20th Anniversary of His Death” in February will put on display more than 50 of his photography works in Taipei.
