The 59th Festival Off Avignon kicked off with an opening parade on July 4, featuring 1,347 international performing groups, including Taiwan's Hung Dance, Mailantia Dance Company, D_Antidote Production, and Formosa Circus Art.
The Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) has partnered with the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) in New York to present the virtual reality (VR) exhibition “Portals of Solitude: Virtual Experiences from Taiwan.” 
The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, in collaboration with Blank Canvas, an art space in Penang, will present Taiwanese artist Charwei Tsai’s solo exhibition from July 5 to Aug. 31.

In May, Ministry of Culture officially launched the “Taiwan Culture Base” program, highlighting 110 cultural sites across the country. To encourage public engagement, 83 travel routes have been developed in collaboration with local governments.

Jointly organized by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation at Trinity College Dublin, and the Taipei Representative Office in Ireland, the 2025 Taiwan-Ireland Poetry Translation Competition is now open for submissions through Sept. 10.

The Ministry of Culture held the 44th National Cultural Award presentation on July 10 at Taipei Zhongshan Hall, honoring Wu Sheng, Fu Ming-kuang, and Yang Li-hua for their outstanding contributions. 
Cultural Features
Born in 1946 in a Hakka village in Pingtung’s Jiadong Township, Tseng Kuei-hai was not only a poet but also a doctor, social campaigner, and environmental activist. After graduating from the School of Medicine at Kaohsiung Medical College, Tseng worked as a pulmonologist at Taipei Veterans General Hospital from 1973 to 1976.

Located in Shilin District of Taipei City, the Taipei Performing Arts Center is a dedicated performing arts and cultural facility, which has geometrical shapes with a total space area of 50,000 m2. The building was designed by David Gianotten and Rem Koolhaas from the Office for Metropolitan Architecture, in collaboration with ARTECH.
