TAIWANESE EXHIBITION LAUDED BY UNESCO

A digital exhibition curated by the Ministry of Culture’s National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was lauded an exemplary model for cultural promotion of its kind by an international conference in France.

The Ministry of Culture’s latest digital program, the Literary Landscape of Taiwan website for audiobooks, includes 250 pieces of renowned works of Taiwanese literature recorded by the original writers and poets.


GERMAN HIP-HOP EXPERTS VISIT TAIWAN

Two German hip-hop experts – Dörte Inselmann, executive director of the Kultur Palast Hamburg, and Axel Zielke, art director of the Hip-Hop Academy Hamburg, attended a hip-hop forum in Taipei on Dec. 11.


‘FOUNDER OF TAIWAN’S ECONOMIC MIRACLE’

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the late President Yen Chia-kan’s death, the “Founder of Taiwan’s Economic Miracle” exhibition will run till Jan. 5, 2014 at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.


‘EXHIBITION OF HISTORY & LITERATURE’

Featuring literary works that present the way writers in Taiwan have positioned themselves in response to 26 historical events, a special exhibition on Taiwanese history and literature is now showing in Tainan City.


‘THE BRAVE FIGHTER’

An exhibition entitled “The Brave Fighter ─ Formosan Clouded Leopard,” featuring six precious specimens of the extinct leopard species, will be on display at the National Taiwan Museum from Dec. 3 through May 4, 2014.


'PURE TAIWAN' FEATURING HUALIEN JADE

“Pure Taiwan,” a three-month exhibition featuring a variety of crafty jade creations, will run till Feb. 16 at Hualien County, the hometown of Taiwan’s beautiful stones such as black jade, blue jade, and chalcedony.


EMERALD INITIATIVE: 2014 OPEN CALL

Proposals will be accepted through Dec. 27 for projects that arrange for Southeast Asian personnel to visit Taiwan for meaningful and collaborative cultural exchanges from Feb. 1 through Nov. 20, 2014.
