CET OFFERS DESIGN WITH A CULTURAL FLAIR

The 2015 Creative Expo Taiwan (CET) kicked off on April 29 to promote the aesthetics and cultural sensibilities of the Chinese-speaking community. The 6-day fair has a lineup of 615 vendors and 1,200 booths from 18 nations.


FREE SCREENINGS OF MYSTERY FILMS IN LA

The Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles is set to kick off another admission-free film series in Westwood, this time focusing on several different types of mysteries, from May 7 through June 25.


COMIC ARTISTS SELECTED FOR FRENCH RESIDENCY

Taiwanese comic artists Ao Yu-hsiang and Mickeyman have been selected for a residency exchange program at La Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l’image, a cultural center based in Angouleme, France.


TAIWANESE NOVELIST RECEIVES IRISH AWARD

Taiwanese novelist Chang Ying-tai was named the 2015 recipient of the Lennox Robinson Literary Award, an annual literature award established to honor one of the most versatile realists of the Irish Literary Revival.


'ART REVOLUTION TAIPEI'

Art Revolution Taipei (A.R.T.) — a yearly international art fair that comprises trade, competition, and charity — will take place in Taiwan’s capital city from May 8 to 11 at the Taipei World Trade Center.


'2015 TIDF TOUR'

The annual Taiwan International Documentary Festival (TIDF) island-wide tour is set to screen award-winning films from the festival’s competitions, productions by featured directors, and selected ones from different programs.


'IMAGINARY VOYAGE — ODYSSEY'S LOG BOOK'

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts will be hosting “Tai Chi-hsien: Imaginary Voyage — Odyssey’s Log Book,” a winning submission from the museum’s 2015 Digital Art Creation Competition, through June 21.


'TREASURE MAP: THE FOLK IMAGES IN TAIWAN'

“Treasure Map: The Folk Images in Taiwan,” an exhibition offering a modern interpretation of traditional folk symbols, will be available at the Nantou-based National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute through Oct. 18, 2015.


'ON SITE IMPROMPTUS'

Twelve choreographed pieces from Taiwan and other countries will be featured in dance videos at a joint exhibition hosted by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung City.


'POETRY x NANGUAN x A CAPPELLA'

Musical interpretation of poems written by National Cultural Award laureate Yu Kwang-chung will take the center stage of four concerts jointly organized by the XinXin Nanguan Ensemble and the Voco Novo A Cappella Group.
