The 24th Taiwan-France Cultural Award in Paris
The two recipients of the 24th Taiwan-France Cultural Award are Robin Ruizendaal, director of the Taipei-based Taiyuan Asian Puppet Theatre Museum, and the Association Francophone d'Études Taïwanaises (AFET).
Taiwan, first in East Asia to adopt Public Lending Right
Taiwan is the first country in East Asia to adopt a Public Lending Right (PLR) scheme, in which Taiwanese authors and publishers will receive payment from the government when their books are borrowed from public libraries.
Temple arrays listed as independent subsidy category
Starting this year, temple array processions known as "tīn-thâu" will be listed in the "Key Points for NCFTA Subsidies" as an independent category to support the sustainable development of the art form and to showcase its unique, artistic nature.

Chio Tian Folk Drums & Arts Troupe originally performed for temple gatherings in Taichung, but over the years they have worked to improve and innovate their performances, elevating traditional "tīn-thâu" to a higher level of artistry. Today, they are a performing arts group with a strong reputation at home and abroad.
