Global museum alliance launches Asia branch in Taiwan
The Asia-Pacific branch of the Federation of International Human Rights Museums (FIHRM-AP) has been officially launched at Taiwan's National Human Rights Museum, marking a new milestone in Taiwan's aspirations of becoming the beacon of human rights in Asia.
Human rights film festival kicks off in Taipei
2019 marks seventy years since martial law was declared in Taiwan, in which civil liberties including freedom of speech were suspended for thirty-eight years. This somber milestone will be commemorated by the 11 equality- and democracy-themed films that will be screened by the Taiwan International Human Rights Film Festival in Taipei and Kaohsiung this September.

Labay Eyong is a contemporary weaver and installation artist of Truku heritage from Taiwan. Her creations, which are free from the limitations of materials and forms and hover between tradition and modernity, make her one of the most promising female artists in Taiwan today.

Wen Lung-hsin is a world-renowned composer, ensemble and orchestra founder, and painter. Nearly half of his compositions have incorporated Hakka and indigenous music elements to present Taiwan's diverse cultures.
