Minister visits Japan for railway, film, art exchanges
Culture Minister Cheng Li-chiun embarked on a three-day visit to Japan from Aug. 1 to 3, where she met with officials from the East Japan Railway Company, Warehouse Terrada, Mori Art Museum, and the National Art Center, Tokyo.
Traditional GMAs nominees applauded
Nominees of the 28th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music were applauded for their achievements and contributions to Taiwan's music heritage at the 'Applaud the Nominees!' event held at the Xiqu Center of Taiwan on Aug. 5.
Lion Art Monthly founder holds solo show
The Taipei-based National Museum of History is holding an exhibition featuring the latest 35 ink paintings by Lee Shien-wen, founder of Lion Art Monthly, titled 'Dreaming Back to Nature.'

Lee Shien-wen is an entrepreneur-turned-artist who has persisted in his pursuit of the arts and the promotion of art education in Taiwan. His Lion Art Monthly was Taiwan's first long-running magazine that was dedicated to art.

Hsu Mao-song is a senior comic artist who has created around 200 works within half a century. For his lifelong dedication to Taiwan's original comics, Hsu will be honored with the 8th Golden Comic Special Contribution Award in September.
