TAIPEI CREATIVE EXPO TO OPEN IN NOVEMBER

The 2013 Taiwan International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo is scheduled to open at the Taipei World Trade Center’s Nangang Exhibition Hall from Nov. 21 to 24.

Two-time Oscar winner Ang Lee will head the jury on the 50th anniversary of the Golden Horse Awards, the most prestigious film awards in the Chinese-speaking world.

A series of renowned Taiwanese films such as the epic “Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale” will be screened at the Delaware Art Museum this month.

This September, 8 Taiwanese set designers will set off for Cardiff to compete in the 2013 World Stage Design, in which Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture is an official partner.


TAIWANESE ARTIST TO HOLD SOLO SHOW IN THE U.K.

The Ministry of Culture and the Chinese Arts Centre in Manchester will help Taiwanese artist Wu Chi-tsung present his first solo exhibition in the United Kingdom.


‘NINE FEMALE VISUAL ARTISTS FROM EL SALVADOR’

An exhibition featuring nine female artists from the Central American nation of El Salvador is scheduled for Sept. 3 through 29 at the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.


‘TOTAL RACHMANINOFF’ FEATURING RUEIBIN CHEN

The Taiwan leg of world-renowned pianist Rueibin Chen’s 2013 World Tour, titled “Listen: Total Rachmaninoff,” is slated for Sept. 10 at the National Concert Hall in Taipei.


‘BERLIN PHILHARMONIC’ FEATURING SIMON RATTLE

Orchestra fans will once again be treated to an enthralling evening when the Berlin Philharmonic performs in Taiwan in November on its third visit to the country.


REPERTORY OF THE YEAR: ‘NEZHA’

“Nezha,” the repertory of the year by resident artists of the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, will include 17 plays between Oct. 11 and Dec. 8.


‘TAIWAN WATERCOLOR SOCIETY’

The 43rd Taiwan Watercolor Society Members’ Annual Exhibition featuring the works of some 100 local watercolor painters will be held in Taipei from Aug. 29 to Sept. 9.
