Born in 1936 in Tansui District, Taihoku Prefecture (now Tamsui District of New Taipei City), Loh grew up in a Christian family. He often accompanied his father, a Presbyterian pastor, on missionary journeys across Taiwan. At a child, he joined the church choir and was introduced to the rich sounds of the island’s ethnic groups.
The Yingge Ceramics Museum is located in the Yingge District of New Taipei City. The plan to establish the Yingge Ceramics Museum was proposed in 1998. Officially opened for public visiting on Nov. 26, 2000, it is the first museum that highlights ceramics crafts and products in Taiwan.
