The Paris Foreign Missions will launch an exhibition titled “Destination Asia, A Missionary Journey in Lego Bricks,” which showcases Lego models of various Asian cultural heritage, including Taiwan’s Longshan Temple.
The international exhibition “The Shattered Worlds: Micro Narratives from the Ho Chi Minh Trail to the Great Steppe,” opened on Apr. 3 in Bangkok, features Taiwan-based Malaysian artist Au Sow-yee and Taiwanese artist Yang Jun.
The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco opened the exhibition “Yuan Goang-ming: Everyday War” on Apr. 3. The exhibition examines the fragmented and surreal nature of contemporary life through Yuan Goang-ming’s poetic video works and installations.

Tokyo Film Festival senior programmer Kenji Ishizaka and executive director of the Yokohama Arts Foundation Shinji Ono visited Taiwan and met with Minister of Culture Li Yuan on June 23.

The Ministry of Culture held a press conference on June 20, unveiling a lineup of eight Taiwanese artist groups set to perform at the Festival Off Avignon and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer.

The National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra will perform at the NTSO Concert Hall on June 28 and at the Pingtung Performing Arts Center on June 29, featuring French conductor Victorien Vanoosten and Taiwanese pianist Frances Hwei-Cheh Liu.
Cultural Features
Born in 1967 in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital city, Tsai Hai-ru is both an artist and a curator. From an early age, she showed a keen interest in the arts. Tsai originally entered the Commercial Design Department of Ming Chuan University after taking the joint university entrance exam.

In 1895, Japanese businessman Shotaro Okamura left his hometown of Osaka and came to a military camp in Tainan to do business. The Japanese who came to Taiwan at that time were all amazed by the deliciousness of the local tropical fruits, especially the pineapples.
