THE 2014 TAIPEI BOOK FAIR WELCOMES YOU

Between Feb. 5 and 10, visitors to the Taipei book fair will get a taste of the cultures of Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand, the four nations that are jointly serving as the theme countries for this year's exhibition.


ACCLAIMED ARTIST HOLDS SOLO SHOW IN LANCASTER

Mixed media artist Wu Chi-tsung has taken the second leg of his solo exhibition tour across the United Kingdom to Lancaster City. Titled “Recalibrate,” the exhibition drew over hundreds of visitors on its opening day.


‘TOAST’ TO REPRESENT TAIWAN IN FRANKFURT

With the Ministry's support, TOAST Living, a designer homeware brand, will showcase its products from Feb. 7 through 11 at the Ambiente Frankfurt 2014, one of the world’s longest-running consumer goods trade fair.


NEW HEADQUARTERS INAUGURATED

To inaugurate the Ministry's new headquarters at New Taipei’s Xinzhuang District, government officials held a traditional blessing ceremony to seek prosperity for the nation and its citizens.


TSAI HSIAO-YING TO HEAD PARIS OFFICE

Tsai Hsiao-ying, a Taiwanese journalist stationed in Paris, has been appointed the new director of the Taiwan Culture Center in Paris. She will be filling the vacancy left by Chen Chih-cheng, who completed his term on Dec. 31, 2013.


'THE INHERITANCE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP: III'

The third series of the 'Inheritance' exhibition in Yilan will display the traditional artwork of three Taiwanese families of craftsmen whose skills have been passed down from generation to generation for more than 70 years.


‘MOONLIGHT BASIN,’ A MEMORIAL EXHIBITION

A joint calligraphy exhibition featuring the late calligrapher Shih Tzu-chen and his student Chen Kuo-yang will take place at the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall from Feb. 8 through 26.


‘LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA’

The London Symphony Orchestra will hold a concert at the National Concert Hall in Taipei on March 6, and another at Jhide Hall in Kaohsiung the following day. It will be the Orchestra’s first foray into southern Taiwan.


‘TAIPEI INT'L COMICS & ANIMATION FESTIVAL’

Featuring over 50 graphic artists, voice actors, and authors from Asia, the 2014 Taipei International Comics and Animation Festival will run at the Nangang Exhibition Hall from Feb. 4 through 8.


'POSTCARDS TO THE PAST'

The Taipei exhibit, which will run between Feb. 5 and 10, showcases more than 300 postcards produced in Taiwan and China featuring scenery, portraits, architecture, historic events, flora and fauna, and local customs.
