The Longci Light Festival, exploring a theme of "natural revival," will feature 12 teams organized by artists, comic artists, and members of the local community to present 14 pieces of giant light art works.
Taiwanese contemporary sculpture artist Hong Yi will simultaneously hold solo exhibitions at Taipei 101 in Taiwan, Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Spain, and Artspace K in Hong Kong through Feb. 28.
The 2021 Taiwan International Light Festival (TILF) will take place at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) in Taichung from Feb. 6 through Mar. 28.

Cut-and-paste ceramic artist Wang Bao-yuan passes away
Legendary cut-and-paste ceramic artist Wang Bao-yuan, a cultural heritage preserver, passed away on Feb. 6 at the age of 93. Minister Lee remarked that Wang's legacy of dedication will be cherished forever by future generations.
Notable choreographic guide features Cheng Tsung-lung
Artistic Director of the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre Cheng Tsung-lung was listed alongside prestigious world-renowned choreographers in the third edition of "Fifty Contemporary Choreographers" published by Routledge & CRC Press.
NCFTA invites artisans to showcase traditional crafts
12 artisans were invited to create and demonstrate traditional crafts, including lacquer artwork, bamboo weaving, divine statue decoration, tin art, traditional wood carving, and basket lacquerware at the traditional craftsmanship workshop at NCFTA Yilan Park.

Tsai Ming-liang is a master filmmaker who has represented Taiwan on the world stage with his distinctive film aesthetics. VR feature film "The Deserted" by Tsai was nominated at the first VR film competition in the 2017 Venice International Film Festival, and had its Tokyo premiere in February 2021.

Wang Bao-yuan is a skilled craftsman of the cut-and-paste ceramic art, specialized in techniques known as kangchui and jiamao, which involve cutting glass into matchstick thinness or crescent-moon shapes. Wang has also been dedicated to pass down his traditional craft skills.
