TAIWANESE FEVER AT AUSTIN MUSIC FEST

Taiwan will be represented by hip-hop artist Dwagie, electronic rock band OVDS, and fusion indie band Toffee at the upcoming South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.


LA EXHIBITION TO SHOWCASE RURAL TAIWAN

The Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles (1137 Westwood Blvd.) will host a photo exhibition titled “A Beautiful Day, Retro Taiwan II” this February to provide a peek into Taiwan’s rural landscape.


KAOHSIUNG FILMS WELL RECEIVED BY FRANCE

More than fifty short films from Kaohsiung had a successful showing at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France, including the latest production by award-winning, Taiwan-based Burmese director Midi Z.


TAIWAN-MALAYSIA ANTHOLOGY IN ENGLISH

To introduce more literary works from Asia to English-speaking readers, a translated anthology of works by Taiwanese and Malaysian writers was released under the auspices of the Ministry’s Emerald Initiative.


ACCELERATE@CERN: OPEN CALL

To promote cross-field cooperation in science and the arts, the Republic of China (Taiwan) Ministry of Culture and the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN) have come together to create Accelerate@CERN TAIWAN.


'2015 TAIWAN INT'L DRUMMING FESTIVAL'

To bring different performing styles to Taiwan during the Chinese New Year holidays, the 2015 Taiwan International Drumming Festival in Kaohsiung will feature percussionists from Taiwan, China, Japan, and France.


'WINDOW VIEW OF LIFE'

The first Taiwan Art Bank exhibition in 2015 will showcase 21 artworks by young Taiwanese artists, ranging from acrylic paintings to ink wash paintings, photographs, installation art, mixed media, oil paintings, and sculptures.


'SPIRITED AWAY IN WU DANG'

The National Museum of History’s “Spirited Away in Wu Dang: A Millennium of Taoist Artifacts” exhibition will bring in 183 groups of precious artifacts collected by the Hubei Province Museum and the Wu Dang Museum.


'LABORERS AND FARMERS'

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature has organized an exhibition on Taiwanese farming literature that portray the lives of the working class and contain special imagery unique to this category of works.


'2015 TAIPEI INT'L BOOK EXHIBITION'

Theme country New Zealand will bring the largest-ever delegation of participating writers, Maori dancers, and woodcarvers to the 2015 Taipei International Book Exhibition from Feb. 11 to 16.
