RAINBOW INITIATIVE: 2014 OPEN CALL

The Ministry is seeking to subsidize multinational and multi-disciplinary collaborative cultural projects by offering funding in amounts between NT$3 million and NT$10 million. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 1.


TAIWAN'S LINEUP FOR THE DALLAS FILM FEST

Three feature films from Taiwan — award-winning drama “Stray Dogs,” romantic comedy “Sweet Alibi,” and the heart-touching tale “Touch of the Light” — will be shown at the 13th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas.


'SPOTLIGHT' ON TAIWAN'S LATE DANCER

A series of seminars on the late Taiwanese modern dance pioneer Tsai Jui-yueh is scheduled to kick off on July 12 in Japan as part of the Spotlight Taiwan partnership between the Ministry of Culture and Aichi University.


'THE CHIMES OF SUMMER'

The unique chimes of handbells are coming to southern Taiwan on July 12, when the Hong Kong-based Asia International Handbell Association will hold a free performance at the National Tainan Living Arts Center.


'2014 AUSTRONESIAN INTERNATIONAL ARTS AWARD'

Artworks inspired by the shared heritage among Austronesian cultures and the beautiful scenery of Taiwan’s southeastern coastline will be showcased in an exhibition at the Taitung Fine Arts Museum.


'CROSS-STRAIT WORKSHOP ON PRINTMAKING'

A joint exhibition featuring printmakers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait will be held at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall between July 9 and 22. The event will also include a cross-strait art forum and a workshop.


'PORCELAIN AT THE PRESIDENTIAL ART GALLERY'

Two Taiwanese artists — the internationally renowned A-sun Wu and the young-and-upcoming Chi-Shang Feng-zhu — will hold a join exhibition at the Presidential Art Gallery in Taipei from July 5 until the yearend.


'THE CERAMIC ART OF YEH-LIU CHIN-HSIUNG'

Sixty sets of nature-inspired teapot sets made by Taiwanese artisan Yeh Liu Chin-hsiung, founder of the Hsin-Wu Pottery House, will be on display at the National Museum of History in Taipei from July 5 through Sept. 3.


'THE SOLO EXHIBITION OF FU SHEN'

The National Museum of History will host a exhibition on established educator Fu Shen, whose paintings and scrolls are known for their adherence to traditional techniques and modern interpretation of Chinese character strokes.


'CROSSING THE BLACK WATERS'

Cloud Gate Dance Theatre will stage a free performance in Taoyuan on July 19 that will include excerpts from their top classic productions “Moon Water,” “Legacy,” “Pine Smoke,” and “How Can I Live on Without You.”
