MINISTER MEETS WITH GERMAN STATE SECRETARY

Culture Minister Lung Ying-tai met with Stephen Steinlein, state secretary of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, on June 10. It was the highest-level meeting between Taiwanese and German officials in recent years.


MINISTER VISITS SWISS PHOTOGRAPHY MUSEUM

Culture Minister Lung Ying-tai visited the Elysée Museum of Photography in the Swiss city of Lausanne on June 8 to learn about the museum’s collections, exhibitions, operations, and marketing of photography.


TAIWAN'S LINEUP FOR THE 2014 GLASTONBURY

This year will mark Taiwan’s first appearance on the coveted stage of the Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. Representing the lively Taiwanese music scene will be The Girl and The Robots, Joanna Wang, and Go Chic.


TAIWAN, OKINAWA TEAM UP FOR MUSIC

Taiwanese and Okinawan musicians will team up this June to perform in the first-ever HOT Islands Music Festival in Taiwan, in which HOT is stylized with capital letters because it also stands for Hualien, Okinawa, and Taitung.

To promote the production of interdisciplinary art, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts has collaborated with the Netherlands-based V2_Institute for the Unstable Media to host a two-month digital media exhibition in Taichung.


'TAIWAN MEMORIES: A CENTURY OF STREET HAWKING'

A special four-month exhibition at the National Museum of Taiwan History will offer a retrospection of a wide variety of street vendors commonly seen on the streets in Taiwan’s earlier days.


'CMDT FESTIVAL: PRE-SUMMER 2014 SERIES'

The 2014 Craft, Music, Dance & Theater Art Festival will kick off its pre-summer series and run for two months at the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI) in Nantou County.
