TEXAS, OKLAHOMA CELEBRATE TAIWAN'S LEGACY

In honor of Taiwanese writer Chu Tien-wen, the recipient of this year’s Newman Prize for Chinese Literature, a series of literary discussions and film screenings will be held in the southern U.S. from March 5 through 15.


TAIWANESE NEW MEDIA ARTIST IN LYON

Taiwanese new media artist Wang Lien-chen has been invited by GRAME, a national music creation center in France, to become a resident artist and display his installation work “Parallel City” at a biennial event in Lyon.


NMP BABY CARRIER COLLECTION ON LOAN TO NY

The National Museum of Prehistory has sent its exhibition on Asia’s baby-carrying culture to the Stony Brook University and the Taiwan Academy in New York. The 47 relics will officially meet the New York public on March 11.


TAIWANESE FEVER AT AUSTIN MUSIC FEST

Taiwan will be represented by hip-hop artist Dwagie, electronic rock band OVDS, and fusion indie band Toffee at the upcoming South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.


FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR LITERARY TRANSLATIONS

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature will back 15 translation projects as part of a long-running program that will include English, Japanese, Korean, French, Czech, and Swedish.


DIGITAL ART WINNERS ON DISPLAY IN TAICHUNG

“Little Black: Life in the Factory - Second Episode” and “Data. Wave. V2,” two digital art projects that stood out from the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts’ annual talent hunt, are now both on display in Taichung.


'THE WOMEN TREES OF FORMOSA'

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature has organized an exhibition on items donated by post-war female poet Tu Pan Fang-ko, including her manuscripts, journals, and books published during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan.


'GOLDEN BLOSSOMS ON GEMMED TREASURES'

The National Museum of History’s “Golden Blossoms on Gemmed Treasures: A Gem-inlaid Gilt Filigree Collection” will be on display from March 27 to May 31 to showcase a series of exquisite gold- and silver-gilt adornments.


'DOCUMENTARY SCREENINGS ON DR. SUN'

“Never Ever Give up the Struggle: Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Heroic Journey to Northern China and His Untimely Death,” a historical documentary on Dr. Sun’s last days, will be freely screened in Taipei between March 12 and 30.


'90TH DEMISE ANNIVERSARY OF DR. SUN'

In honor of the 90th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's death in March 12, 1925, the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall has organized a memorial exhibition that will be held between March 7 and 30 in Taipei.
