Born in Miaoli in 1963, Hsu moved to Taoyuan at the age of 15 to study art at St. Francis Xavier High School. This transition from the tranquil suburbs to the bustling urban environment left her maladjusted during her adolescence. It was not until she encountered ceramic sculpture at school that she became inspired by the endless possibilities of shaping clay.
Located in Yingge District—an area internationally renowned for pottery—the NTCAM is situated on the Sanying Reclaimed Land. The museum complex represents a significant milestone in the New Taipei City Government’s urban renewal and cultural development initiatives.
