The George Town Festival in Penang, Malaysia, is set to take place from Aug. 2 to 10. As part of the “Isle to Isle” program, Taiwanese jazz musicians and the contemporary dance group Hung Dance will serve as highlights of this year’s event.
Taiwan’s celebrated Indigenous contemporary dance group, Bulareyaung Dance Company (BDC), will make its U.S. debut this summer with a North American tour from Jul. 27 to Aug. 16.
The 35th SummerWorks Performance Festival in Toronto, Canada, is set to take place from Aug. 7 to 17. This year’s festival will feature three remarkable works by two Taiwanese dance companies.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture (MOC), the cultural program “We TAIWAN” officially launched at Expo 2025 Osaka on Aug. 2.

The 2025 Creative Expo Taiwan (CET) launched its Brand and Licensing Exhibition and the IP-Star Pop Park at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center on Aug. 5, featuring 34 original Taiwanese character intellectual properties (IPs).

The Ministry of Culture (MOC) announced the finalists of the 16th Golden Comic Awards (GCA) and the winner of the Special Contribution Award on Aug. 6, naming Huang Chien-he as the honoree.

Chen Chih-yang’s father, Chen Wan-neng, is a master of tin crafts. Immersed in tin craft making from a young age, Chen Chih-yang, fond of sketching on paper, displayed a natural talent for drawing. After graduating from Mingdao High School in Taichung, he aspired to push the boundaries of graphic art.

Previously, the Pingtung 1936 Tobacco Culture Base was the Pingtung Tobacco Factory. Established in 1936 as the Pingtung Branch Tobacco Re-drying Plant, it was responsible for providing technical guidance regarding the cultivation, procurement, and processing/storage of tobacco in Pingtung during the Japanese rule of Taiwan.
