FEMALE TRIO TO PERFORM IN NY THIS WEEKEND

A female Taiwanese trio consisting of rapper Miss Ko, singer-songwriter Joanna Wang and DJ Noodles is scheduled to perform in New York City on Oct. 18.


'RENAISSANCE OF TAIWANESE CINEMA' REVIVED

The Ministry of Culture’s overseas office in Tokyo will help host the “2013 Renaissance of Taiwanese Cinema” program at the upcoming 26th Tokyo International Film Festival.


HAWAII TO HOST TAIWAN FILM SERIES

Starting this November, the Ministry of Culture and the University of Hawaii at Manoa have partnered up to bring Taiwanese films to the Polynesian islands.

15 top Taiwanese artisans will be attending the 6th Cross-Strait Xiamen Cultural Industries Fair, which will run for three days in Xiamen starting Oct. 25.


BUSAN TO HOST CULTURAL EXHIBITION ON TAIWAN

A special exhibition called “Formosa: Taiwan, Life and Culture” will be held at the Busan Museum in South Korea to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.


‘THE 2013 WOMEN MAKE WAVES FILM FESTIVAL’

The 2013 WMW Film Festival will run until Oct. 20 at the Spot Huashan cinema of the Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Taipei.


‘FATHER OF THE TURKS’

An exhibition honoring the late Turkish President Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founding father of the Republic of Turkey, will be held in Taipei from Oct. 22 to Nov. 7.


‘FARMERS OF TAIWAN’

The National Museum of Taiwan History in Tainan has organized an agricultural collection to reflect the rapid development of Taiwan’s agriculture in the past century.


‘TANGIBLE SPLENDOR’

Featuring 50 sets of lacquer artworks, “Tangible Splendor” will help introduce the ancient craft based on evolving techniques and regional styles.


‘AWAKEN YOUR INNOCENT EYE’

An exhibition marking the 25th anniversary of the Chi Mei Arts Awards is now showing at the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall until Oct. 21.
