As part of a minor cabinet reshuffle, the Ministry of Culture is under the guidance of two new deputy culture ministers – Hung Meng-chi and Lee Ying-ping.


ANNUAL EXPO TO HIGHLIGHT CRAFT DESIGNS

The 2013 Taiwan International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo (TICCIE), which is slated for November, will be dedicated to reinvigorating traditional crafts.


TAIWANESE ARTIST TO PRESENT AUDIO PIECE IN NYC

Taiwanese sound artist Wang Hong-kai will be presenting one of her auditory creations at the Museum of Modern Art in New York from Aug. 10 through Nov. 3.


TAIWAN SHINES AT KOREAN CRAFT COMPETITION

Three Taiwanese artists have captured top honors at the 8th Cheongju International Craft Competition in South Korea this year.


ART COMPETITION FOR DISABLED PEOPLE COMMENCES

The Ministry of Culture has launched the 2013 Enable Prize for disabled artists in Taiwan. All R.O.C. applicants may submit their piece before Sept. 14, 2013.


THE EMERALD INITIATIVE: CALL FOR APPLICANTS

The Emerald Initiative, which offers grants of up to US$16,708 to cultural exchanges related to Southeast Asia, will be accepting applications until Aug. 31, 2013.


JOIN THE MINISTRY’S VIRTUAL CAFE – iMATCH – TODAY

The Ministry of Culture has launched the “iMatch,” an idea-matching platform for creative individuals and businesses to swap ideas and combine resources.


‘THE 2013 INTERNATIONAL TECHNO ART EXHIBITION’

The 2013 International Techno Art Exhibition featuring 79 days of bionic robots and other futuristic art will run from Aug. 10 through Oct. 27 in Taichung.


‘POST-WAR TAIWANESE CLASSICAL POETRY’

An exhibition on the development of Taiwanese classical poems after World War II will be held in Tainan from Aug. 6 through Dec. 22.


‘NO MORE BORDERS: THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX’

An exhibition showcasing artworks by handicapped individuals in Taiwan will be held at the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall from Aug. 4 to 30.
