Melbourne Fringe Festival, one of the largest independent art festivals in Australia, has kicked off with a signature event themed "Fringe Focus Taiwan," highlighting three online performances from Taiwanese artists.
L'Ensemble Yu, a band formed by Taiwanese musician Wang Ya-ping, known for finding its inspiration deep in Taiwanese cultural roots, will present their music online as part of the 2020 Jazzycolors Festival.
The inaugural Queer East Film Festival will take place online and in-cinemas across the U.K., with Taiwan as the country of focus, showcasing our rich tradition of LGBTQ+ filmmaking with 10 feature films and 8 short films.

Spectacular Golden Horse Awards ceremony
At the star-studded event, veteran actress Chen Shu-fang took home awards for best leading actress and best supporting actress and Mo Tzu-yi won best leading actor.
Seasoned woodcarving artist awarded highest craft prize
Veteran woodcarving artist Chen Chi-tsun received the National Craft Achievement Award, Taiwan's highest crafts prize, for his outstanding contribution to the craft art.
Condolences over the passing of avant-garde painter
Culture Minister Lee Yung-te expressed his condolences over the passing of pioneer painter Chuang Shih-ho, who had committed his life to promote his artistic vision.

In 2019, the wooden baking mold made by Chen was given to Taiwan's top model Lin Chi-ling, as a gift in celebration of her high-profile marriage to Japanese actor Akira at a wedding banquet held in Tainan city.
