The National Hsinchu Living Arts Center (NHLAC) will host a ceremony on June 20 to announce the release of its quarterly publication. With a focus on national languages, the latest issue seeks to raise awareness of language revitalization, encourage young Taiwanese to improve their language skills and seize every opportunity to use the language so that they could pass it on to future generations.

The quarterly publication was first released in April 2021 and has since published nine issues. The publication delves into diverse government initiatives, covering a wide range of topics such as cultural heritage restoration, young people returning to their hometowns, Read Taiwan (走讀臺灣), and the National Languages Development Plan (國家語言整體發展), presenting the rich cultural and landscape diversity of Taiwan.

NHLAC Director Yeh Yu-cheng (葉于正) stated that in the latest issue, numerous individuals who have been dedicated to promoting national languages were invited to share their experiences and perspectives. He hopes that in the future, native languages will be seamlessly integrated into people's everyday lives, thus cultivating an environment where these languages are widely embraced and used. As a result, young people can gain confidence and proficiency in their native language skills.

The ninth issue highlights an important policy of the Ministry of Culture, which is the "National Languages Development Plan,” and features interviews with notable individuals such as chairman of Care Culture and Education Foundation Chou Ching-yu (周清玉), Taiwanese-language poet Fang Yaw-chien (方耀乾), Deputy Artistic Director of Our Theatre Wu Ming-lun (吳明倫), and a promoter of the Matsu dialect Liu Yu-lin (劉玉蓮), among others.
