Taiwan's publications receive positive responses at Seoul International Book Fair

The Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), in collaboration with the Taipei Book Fair Foundation and 85 local publishing houses, organized the Taiwan Pavilion at the Seoul International Book Fair, exhibiting 328 publications from June 14 to 18. Prior to the opening day of the book fair, Korean professionals had expressed interest in acquiring copyrights of the publications. Over 150 meetings were scheduled with foreign publishers, highlighting the strengths of Taiwan's soft power.

The Taiwan Pavilion exhibits a wide range of award-winning publications, including manga work "CliniClowns: Last Goodbye (小丑醫生-最後一次說再見)," children’s book "Still Young, Still New (他們的眼睛)," and novel "The Attorney From Bachimen (八尺門的辯護人)." Selected works that have the potential for screen adaptation are also featured, including "Before We Were Monsters (成為怪物以前)," "The Funeral Concerto (葬協奏曲)," and "Working for a Crime Group as a Scriptwriter (我在犯罪組織當編劇)."

TAICCA Chairman Tsai Chia-chun (蔡嘉駿) stated that over 50 Taiwanese industry players attended this year's book fair, marking the highest number ever recorded in the history of the fair. This reflects the high level of business confidence in the Korean market while TAICCA is also deepening its collaboration with Korean exhibition events, including publishing, film and television, and IP licensing, to foster a closer partnership between the industries.

In addition, TAICCA organized an IP promotion event, introducing publications with the potential for adaptation into film, television, and webcomics to Korean industry professionals. The event attracted nearly a hundred representatives from webtoon platforms, production companies, and entertainment industry giants, assisting domestic industry players in expanding the market share of T-content in Korea.
