Public art volume details Taiwan's artistic progress

The 2013 edition of "Public Art in Taiwan,” the authoritative volume on public art, has been released and is now available through the government's official publications network.

The book contains detailed documentation of 172 public art projects, 275 public art displays, and 72 promotional plans for public art education. The collection also offers statistics, research papers, and published articles on Taiwan's public art, as well as information on related forums and public awareness campaigns.

Public art installations tallied at NT$460 million (US$14.64 million) in 2013, and the book contains information on 9 projects that are each priced above US$10 million (US$318,300).

Readers will be able to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the origins, development, and scale of public art projects in Taiwan. The publication will also serve as a handy reference for those who are interested in learning more about the regulations and subsidies guiding such projects.
