Five renowned Taiwanese art groups — Cloud Gate Dance Theatre (雲門舞集), Dance Forum Taipei (舞蹈空間), Taipei Male Choir (拉縴人男聲合唱團), Horse Dance Theater (驫舞劇團), and U-theatre (優人神鼓) — will perform in a yearlong contemporary arts program billed as "Taiwan Today' in Dresden, Germany.

Cloud Gate Dance Theatre will kick off the series by performing its latest production "Rice” (稻禾) on April 25 and 26 at the Hellerau European Center for the Arts in Dresden.

Dance Forum Taipei will perform "The Unreality of Time” (時境) and "Like an Olive Tree” (橄欖樹) on May 2 and 3, while Horse Dance Theater will perform in November.

Between May 3 and 9, the Taipei Male Choir will cooperate with a local choir in a workshop and hold two staged performances, while U-theatre will perform at the closing ceremony.

Culture Minister Lung Ying-tai lauded the upcoming yearlong collaboration for helping to open doors in Germany and providing further opportunities for cultural exchanges.
