TAIWANESE DELEGATION TO ATTEND HONG KONG GIFTS FAIR

A Taiwanese delegation led by the Ministry of Culture is scheduled to participate in an international gifts fair held in Hong Kong to promote Taiwan-made design products in the one of the world's top trading centers, the Ministry said on Friday.

Eight cultural and creative businesses from Taiwan, including Cheerful Fashion Goods, Finding Cheska Co., Alvin Lee Co., C&M Audio Co., Huey Erl Chyang Enterprise Limited, Motor Design Group, and Bonho Inc., will take part in the four-day Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, the largest of its kind in Asia, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 27 to 30.

The Taiwan pavilion, aptly named "Fresh Taiwan,” will help freshen the international image of Taiwan, promote locally designed products and highlight the Taiwanese lifestyle, the Ministry added.

Among the made-in-Taiwan items to be displayed at the fair are Bonho Inc.'s "Taiwanese Blessings” seal cup set, which was designed by four renowned Taiwanese seal-cutting artists and features four Chinese characters in seal script - fortune, prosperity, longevity and happiness.

Moreover, popular Hong Kong illustrator Dreamergo will be one of the VIP guests who will help introduce Taiwan's cultural and creative works at the fair.

The annual fair, which is in its 28th year, is organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). Last year, a total of 4,100 exhibitors from 35 countries and over 46,000 buyers from 134 countries participated in the event.
