Broadcasting nominations of 2018 Golden Bell Awards revealed

The 53rd Golden Bell Awards announced its 2018 nominations for the broadcasting category on Aug. 22 at a celebration party in Taipei that was streamed on platforms such as Vidol, YouTube, SET News, and the awards’ official Facebook page.

 

The Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development stated that after two months of selection and deliberation, a total of 126 nominations stood out from 855 entries submitted by 66 producers. In comparison, 758 entries were received last year.

 

Hsiang Tzu-ching (邢子青), a veteran Taiwanese producer at Philharmonic Radio (愛樂電台), was invited to be head juror of the awards committee. Veteran Taiwanese broadcaster Yuan Kuang-lin (袁光麟) was also assigned head juror of the special awards category.

 

Among the special awards, the Special Contribution Award will go to senior Taiwanese broadcasters Chen Ho-shan (陳合山) and Kuo Yun-sen (郭運森) in recognition of their remarkable achievements and contributions to Taiwanese television production.

 

The announcement party was hosted by Taiwanese DJ Liu Yu-lin (劉玉霖) of Asia FM, and the nomination list was announced by Deputy Minister of Culture Ting Hsiao-ching (丁曉菁), and Taiwanese singer-DJs Emily (艾蜜莉), Shao Da-lun (邵大倫), Danny Huang (黃丹尼), Frankie Wang (汪佩蓉), and Vic Yang (楊程鈞).

 

During the party, Taiwanese DJ Ray Ray was invited as a guest performer to play delightful music and celebrate the achievements of broadcasters from all over the world. View the full list of nominees here.

 


The awards ceremony of the 2018 Golden Bell Awards will take place at the National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (No. 505 Ren'ai Road Section 4, Xinyi District, Taipei) on Sept. 29 for the broadcasting category, and on Oct. 6 for the television category. 

 

Local viewers will be able to watch the awards via TV channel SET Metro, SET Creative (MOD), and SET Dramas (MOD). For overseas audiences, the Sept. 29 and Oct. 6 ceremonies will be available on platforms including Vidol, YouTube, SET News, and Hami Video on Chunghwa Telecom.
