MOC announces guide for cultural events regarding COVID-19 preventive measures

In response to new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced on May 11 to raise the alert level and tighten control measures. In line with the stricter preventive measures, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) has ramped up restrictions across the Ministry’s affiliated agencies and venues, effective from May 11 through June 8. Listed below is the latest preventive guide :

(1) Organizers of arts and cultural activities are required to abide by the restrictions, which include allocating seats between visitors, all event attendees and staffs are required to wear a surgical mask at all times, have their temperatures measured, disinfect hands. Real-name registration and crowd control measures will be implemented.

(2) All tickets purchased for events which are canceled will be refunded with no processing fee. The Ministry will provide appropriate compensation for the loss of box office revenues of the performance troupes.

(3) In principle, organizers should cancel outdoor activities of more than 500 persons and indoor activities of more than 100 persons. However, if organizers of such gatherings and activities can arrange designated seats for participants; keep a record of participants' contact information; ensure participants wear masks all the time; and prohibit consumption of food and beverages, organizers may hold such events after submitting disease prevention plans to the local regulatory authority and obtaining permission.
