 NTM launches a variety of online creative activities

As the government enforces COVID prevention measures, the National Taiwan Museum (NTM) gathers online platforms to launch various creative activities, online courses, and virtual backgrounds for free to enrich life at home.
 
Over the Dragonboat festival, the NTM has launched an online activity "Dragon Boat Festival Egg Balancing and Egg Feast (立蛋之後就是煮蛋)" on the official NTM Facebook page since June 9. In addition to sharing the collections of dinosaur eggs, crocodile eggs, wagtail eggs, common kingfisher eggs, meadow bunting eggs, and winter wren eggs, the NTM invites the public to share the photos of handmade egg dishes at home. Furthermore, there will be an opportunity to receive gifts by completing the designated tasks that are set out on the official NTM Facebook page.
 
"Dinosaur maker - Dinosaur Stage Show at Your House (恐龍製造者:家中SHOW恐龍)" is another creative solicitation activity, calling on parents and children to share the photos of their dinosaur paintings, dinosaur clay works, Lego dinosaurs, and present dinosaur role plays, among others on the official NTM web page.
 
The NTM also provides a variety of online educational videos as well as the videos of practical work such as the popular animated short film "A Natural History Adventure in the Market (菜市場博物學)" in teaching the public to distinguish common foods in daily life such as the differences between soybeans, black beans, and edamame.
 
Moreover, a plant drawing video tutorial by an illustration and education influencer Northbirds who introduces the tools and techniques of a scientific drawing. Many popular physical activities have turned into online videos such as "The Pastoral Musician, Günther's Frog (Hylarana guentheri)(田園音樂家﹝小貢﹞)" and "Camphor Expert Training Center (腦丁代言人:尋找樟小弟)."
 
The NTM has also launched the second wave of "A Virtual Tour inside the National Taiwan Museum (臺博館偽旅行)." The activity is based on the theme of the venue’s classic architecture, collections, and exhibition venues, a total of 54 beautiful pictures of Taiwan's natural humanities, finance, paleontology, which are provided exclusive Virtual Backgrounds for free download and use.
