2021 Taipei Fashion Week SS22 to debut on Oct. 3 with 5G technology

"2021 Taipei Fashion Week SS22" will kick off on Oct. 3, using Chunghwa Telecom's 5G network services to connect fashion shows and art performances, and perform real-time shows in different places to provide a new integrated experience across various fields.

The Minister of Culture held a press conference at Taipei 101's Ambi Space One today to explain the features and curatorial content of this fashion week, and referred to Chunghwa Telecom as an important cooperative partner.

In addition to sponsoring related activities, Chunghwa Telecom will use 5G network services to connect fashion catwalks and art performances in the "Opening Cross-field Show" as part of the opening event on Oct. 7.

Addressing the conference, Vice Minister of Culture Lee Lien-chuan (李連權) said, even under the impact of the pandemic, the ministries, central and local government, as well as fashion industry will work together to ensure that Taipei Fashion Week will be held as scheduled, to promote Taiwan’s fashion industry to the international stage and become a representative fashion event in Asia or the world.

Chungwa Telecom pointed out that in this event, Taipei 101's Ambi Space One is mainly designed as a venue for designer clothing, and Songshan Cultural Park No. 4 Warehouse is mainly for music performances. Through the Chungwa Telecom 5G network, in addition to linking the live broadcasts of the two events, and performing real-time remote shows, the designer clothing catwalk images will be transmitted to Songshan Cultural Park, and the musical performances will be transmitted to Taipei 101's Ambi Space One simultaneously.

Chunghwa Telecom explained that since 2020, it has cooperated with CT Ambi Investment and Consulting Inc. in Taipei 101's Ambi Space One to build a 5G private network where it combined 8K/4K high-resolution projection to create an immersive exhibition venue.

Chunghwa Telecom president Harrison Kuo (郭水義) pointed out that Chunghwa Telecom has long supported the domestic arts and cultural industry. With the advent of the 5G era, Chunghwa Telecom has actively promoted the development of 5G innovative applications that integrate culture and technology.
