MOC, GACC celebrates 100th founding anniversary of Taiwanese Cultural Association

The Ministry of Culture and the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC) have jointly organized a series of activities under the theme "a century of pursuit," marking the 100th founding anniversary of the Taiwanese Cultural Association (TCA).

The series of activities in the first half of the year include "A Century of Artistic Power at the Taiwan Cultural Association in Taichung (進步時代-臺中文協百年的美術力)" organized by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and "A Century of Heartfelt Sentiment (百年情書‧文協百年特展)" presented by the Museum of Taiwan Literature.

The events of the second half of the year feature the National Museum of Taiwan History's "Blessed to be a Global Citizen – the 100th Anniversary of the Taiwan Cultural Association (樂為世界人—臺灣文化協會百年特展)," the National Center for Traditional Arts' "New Cultural Perspectives: One Hundred Years of Taiwanese Music (新文化觀點 臺灣音樂一百年特展)," the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute's "Raging Memories Film Festival: Tribute to Taiwan Cultural Association (致憤青˙文協百年紀念影展)," and the "One Hundred Years in Pursuit – 100th Anniversary concert of Taiwanese Cultural Association (百年追求-臺灣文化協會100周年紀念音樂會)" jointly organized by the Taipei Music Center and the Kaohsiung Music Center.

Furthermore, MOC commissioned the National Museum of Taiwan Literature to plan and publish the "The Guide to the 100 Scenic Spots of Taiwanese Cultural Association (文協一百點:臺灣真有力地景指南)," hoping that people can learn about TCA's stories through its spots in Taiwan a century ago.

As the pandemic subsides, the public can visit those places in person through self-guided walking and discover the significance of TCA to the development of Taiwan’s culture.

Besides the above-mentioned activities organized by MOC, many non-governmental organizations have also held a number of commemorative activities, such as the Association for Taiwan Literature, the Taiwan Society, the Chiang Wei-shui’s Cultural Foundation, the Wu San-Lien Foundation for Taiwan Historical Materials, the Lai Ho Cultural Foundation.
