Culture Minister offers condolences upon the passing of veteran actor Chang Feng

Taiwanese veteran actor Chang Feng (常楓) passed away on Feb. 6 at the age of 100. He dedicated his life to acting and was active in the film and television industry. Minister of Culture Lee Yung-te expressed his condolences upon hearing the news.

Throughout his acting career, Chang Feng has won several major awards. He was twice honored as best actor at the Golden Bell Awards, Taiwan's Emmys, once in 1984 for his role in "Two Endings" (兩種結尾) and the other in 1986 for his role in "Autumn Moon and Spring Winds" (秋月春風). He also won Golden Horse Awards, seen as the Academy Awards for Chinese-language films, for best actor in 1976 for his role in "Fragrant Flower Versus Noxious Grass" (香花與毒草) and for best supporting actor in 1984 for his role in "The Warmth of an Old House" (頤園飄香). In 2008, Chang was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Horse Awards.

Mourning the loss of Chang Feng, Minister Lee stated that Chang Feng devoted his life to Taiwan's film and television industry with outstanding achievements. His professionalism is an exemplar of Taiwanese film and television and his legacy of dedication will be cherished forever by future generations.
