Tibetan Culture and Art Festival celebrates its 9th edition with free concert

Celebrating the 9th year of the Tibetan Culture and Art Festival, the Ministry of Culture has specially organized the “Seeing Tibet from Taiwan (從臺灣看見西藏)” concert to be held at Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center’s Main Theatre on Sept. 23 and 24. With inspiration from Taiwan’s ocean and Tibet’s plateau, the carols of the beloved motherland will be played, demonstrating direct spiritual-cultural dialogue.

“Seeing Tibet from Taiwan” concert integrates the National Chinese Orchestra Taiwan (NCO) of the National Center for Traditional Arts (NCFTA), and Techung, an internationally renowned Tibetan musician, together with his team. Their performance will bring the charms of both Taiwan and Tibet to the audiences, offering them a compelling and memorable musical experience. The joint music performance will unfold international cultural exchange and interpret the memories and stories of various ethnic groups, thereby expressing the power of music without boundaries and raising the multicultural art energy of Taiwan.

Well-versed in Tibetan traditional and modern music, Techung graduated from the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts of Dharmshala, India, and has a rich mellow voice. The NCO is dedicated to narrating the most beautiful stories of Taiwan through traditional music and connecting the world with Taiwan through innovative music.

Free tickets to the concert can be redeemed in person at the Mongolian & Tibetan Cultural Center from Sept. 9. For more information, please click here to visit the website of the Tibetan Culture and Art Festival.
