Creative Expo Taiwan 2023 unveiled at C-LAB in Taipei

The Creative Expo Taiwan (CET) 2023 returned to Taipei with an impressive display of its extended geographical footprint. The event’s inauguration was held on Sept. 21 at the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB), a renowned cultural venue, and extends to other major cultural hubs in the capital city, including the National Railway Museum, Huashan Creative Park, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, and the EXPO Dome at Taipei Expo Park. The CET 2023 is taking place until Oct. 1.

Distinguished attendees at the inaugural ceremony included Executive Yuan Secretary-General Li Men-yen (李孟諺), Minister of Culture Shih Che (史哲), and Tuvalu Ambassador Bikenibeu Paeniu, among others, who were accorded the honor of officiating the commencement of CET 2023.

Minister Shih said the deliberate choice of C-LAB as the central venue for this year’s event is a strategic move to open up the former military base. He foresaw that the curation of multiple exhibitions would position C-LAB as a pivotal cultural asset within the capital, further elevating Taiwan’s cultural prowess.

In a concerted effort to involve audiences nationwide, CET 2023 incorporated sub-exhibition areas such as the National Taiwan Museum, the National Museum of Taiwan History, the National Museum of Prehistory, the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute, and the Fort Zeelandia Museum. Beyond Cultural Curation, from Sept. 26 onwards, the program also encompassed themes such as Cultural Brands, IP Licensing, and Cultural Performances at the main venues. CET 2023 aspired to propel the vibrant energy of Taiwanese culture onto the global stage, affirming its significance on an international scale.
