Taiwanese opera competition recognized by MUSE Creative Awards

The “kua-á-siōng-tshenn: 2023 Taiwanese Opera Competition (歌仔上青-2023全國歌仔戲比賽)” organized by the National Center for Traditional Arts (NCTFA) was honored with the MUSE Creative Awards in the Cultural Event category.

The MUSE Creative Awards is a prestigious international advertising awards platform, celebrating excellence and innovation in the realms of creative design, advertising, and digital media. The competition held by NCTFA was presented with the award for successfully inspiring the younger generation in Taiwan to learn their mother tongue and traditional culture.

To promote language development and traditional Taiwanese opera, the NCTFA organized the Taiwanese Opera competition for the first time in 2023. This event invited young students and the public to participate through national online auditions, regional semi-finals, and the final. Promoting the use and popularization of Taiwanese Hokkien, the event achieves language revitalization, arts development, and cross-disciplinary integration.

In addition to local participants, foreigners, including those from the U.S., Hong Kong, and Malaysia, also took part in this competition, thereby helping the spread of Taiwanese culture. For more information on this event, please visit the MUSE Creative Awards website.
