Taiwan's Creative Expo, one of the largest cultural events in Asia, will take place for the first time in Taiwan's southern port city of Kaohsiung. The 10-day event will be held at Kaohsiung Music Center from Aug. 5 through 14 and Kaohsiung Exhibition Center from Aug. 10 through 14.
Those present at the opening ceremony on Aug. 4 included Minister of Culture Lee Yung-te, Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁), Chiayi Mayor Huang Ming-hui(黃敏惠), Lienchiang County Secretary-General Chang Lung-te (張龍德), Legislator Lee Kun-tse (李昆澤), and others.
The Culture section – "Island of Passion," comprises five sections, each symbolizing a grand tour of personal experiences. The Main pavilion is themed on co-creation. The Craft pavilion takes visitors through the journey of things. The Chiayi pavilion embodies a contemporary modern city. The Matsu pavilion offers brews with the time of the islands.
The Creative section – "Ideal Adventure," brings together cultural and creative brands from Taiwan to showcase classic taste, a trendy selection of products, and local originality, introducing a customized attitude towards life. The Licensing section – "Super IPs," gathers innovative vocabularies of the new generation, original IPs, illustrated stories, digital entertainment and more to unlock a new market of endless links.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Minister Lee said that the Kaohsiung City Government has planned a series of activities to create high-level publicity for this year's expo, and with the joint participation of Chiayi City and Lienchiang County, it fulfills the theme of "Resonance Island." With this positive energy, Taiwan's Creative Expo will be even more successful than before and will continue to strengthen the cultural and creative industries. MOC will also continue to provide support for all cultural and creative industries and move towards the aim of becoming a trillion-dollar industry.
