A traveling art exhibition featuring works by laureates of Taiwan's Ten Outstanding Young Persons awards programwill kick off on Nov. 11 at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei.
Collaborating with the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Social Club, the exhibition is part of commemorative events marking 150 years after the birth of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, founder of the Republic of China.
Launched in 1963, the Ten Outstanding Young Persons awards program recognizes the achievements of young people from 10 different fields. The art exhibition will showcase roughly 100 pieces of artwork spanning papercut designs, sculptures, ceramics, and animation by 18 winners in the arts and cultural field.
The featured artists are: Yang Ying-feng (楊英風), Yu Ru-chi (余如季), Liu Kung-song (劉國松), Feng Chung-jui (馮鍾睿), Pan Yuan-shih (潘元石), Liao Shiou-ping (廖修平), Wu Long-jung (吳隆榮), Teng Yu-li (鄧有立), Ju Ming (朱銘), Wu Hsuan-san (吳炫三), Ho Huai-shuo (何懷碩), Ho Heng-hsiung (何恆雄), Tsai Jung-yu (蔡榮祐), Tsai Chih-chung (蔡志忠), Hsu Wen-rung (許文融), Hong Sin-fu (洪新富), Lee Ren-yao (李仁燿), and Lee Po-yi (李柏毅).
A joint opening ceremony will be held on Nov. 12 at 10am to also welcome the International Conference on Inheritance and Innovation: In Commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Birth of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
The "Ten Outstanding Young Persons” exhibition will be on tour through Aug. 14, 2016and travel to Chienkuo University of Science and Technology at Changhua City; Cultural Affair Bureaus of Yilan County and Tainan County; Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery at Kaohsiung; and the Cultural Affair Bureaus of New Taipei City, Hsinchu City, and Taichung City.
