'2015 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival'

The Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, the precursor event to Taiwan's biggest film awards, will screen over 180 films starting Nov. 5.

The three-week festival will kick off with "Distance,” an omnibus film by Singaporean director Anthony Chen, and close with "The Tag-Along,” a horror movie and feature debut by emerging filmmaker Cheng Wei-hao.

Forty films that have nominated for this year's Golden Horse Awards will be screened as well, including art house production "No No Sleep” by Tsai Ming-liang; romantic comedy "Our Times” by Chen Yu-shan; mystery thriller "The Laundryman” by Lee Chung; and the Cannes-winning martial arts epic "The Assassin” by Hou Hsiao-hsien.

Other sections, including Viva Auteur, Panorama New Waves, Windows on Asia, L.G.B.T., Wonderland, Music and Apocalypse, Life and Legend, and Restored Classics, will be screening international features from around the world.

The Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee will also pay their respects to three master filmmakers - Peter Greenaway, Orson Wells, and Maurice Pialat.

The festival runs through Nov. 26 in Taipei. Find out more at www.goldenhorse.org.tw.
