Created from the concept of having animals narrate the challenges of climate change, "Come to Our Future” will be held from Aug. 9 through Feb. 9 at the National Museum of Prehistory in Taitung.
The special exhibition will walk visitors through the impeding ecological crisis caused by global warming through three segments: 'To you who live in modern society - footprints of the city hunter,' 'To you who pursue the truth - experiments of global warming' and 'To you who walk toward the future - the script of the future.'
Incorporating virtual reality, the special exhibition is aimed at encouraging the public to live simply and embrace a low-carbon lifestyle. The organizers hope to increase people's understanding of the current crisis that the Earth is facing, raise awareness on global warming issues and inspire more people to protect our planetEarth.
Over 150 rare animal specimens on loan from the Taipei Zoo are on display at the "Come to Our Future” exhibition. The endangered animals on display include the rarely seen North American gray wolf, the Formosan black bear, the Formosan clouded leopard, the ring-tailed lemur, the Amazon toucan, the Aldabra tortoise, the giant panda and the koala bear.
Visitors who upload photos of the exhibition or check-in on social networking sites such as Facebook will receive a gift. Visitors who post a 500- to 800-word article about their experience of visiting the exhibition on their personal blogs will also have a chance to receive a surprise present.
