The National Taiwan Museum (NTM), the National Palace Museum (NPM), and the National Museum of Taiwan History (NMTH) will be holding a joint exhibition titled "Imaging Indigene, Han Taiwanese, and Royalty in Collection: A NPM, NTM, and NMTH Joint Exhibition" at NTM until May. 29, with a total of 482 collections on display.

NPM is world-renowned for its extensive, unparalleled collection of Chinese imperial and official court items while the NTM is home to a diverse collection of Taiwanese indigenous artifacts. NMTH maintains the nation's most comprehensive collection of items reflecting Taiwan's historical heritage and folk culture. Together, these three museums hold the iconic treasures that respectively reflect the three core groups of Taiwan’s history - Taiwan's indigenous peoples, the Han settlers, and the Chinese imperial court and officials.

This time, 193 collections are selected from the collection of more than 7,000 rare aboriginal cultural relics of Taiwan. In the future, exhibitions with different ethnic groups will be launched consecutively. In the exhibition, NMTH aims at showing the traditional life and transformation of Han society from the Ming and Qing eras to modern times.

The exhibition's ten themed sections have been designed to both highlight the unique nature of each museum's collection and deepen the visitors' curiosity and interest. Each section is carefully curated, with researchers from each museum selecting items that are relevant to the indigenous, Han, and official courts in order to present a comprehensive and engaging narrative.

The sections in this exhibition include The Non-monetary Power of Coins; A Cryptic Written Language; Hooked on Smoking Paraphernalia; The Beautiful Art of the Banquet; The Captured Imaginings of Outsiders; Remembering Our Ancestors; The Art of Feminine Adornment; The Blessings of Prodigious Progeny; The World of Sex & Passion; and Stylish Men & Warriors.
