NMTH to launch ‘Transcending 1624_Taiwan and the World’ exhibition

The National Museum of Taiwan History (NMTH) is set to launch an international exhibition titled “Transcending 1624: Taiwan and the World (跨‧1624:世界島臺灣)” on Feb. 1 in Tainan. Bringing together hundreds of artifacts from 20 countries, including Japan and the Netherlands, this exhibition aims to recreate the thriving trade scene in East Asia from 400 years ago.

With the National Museum of Japanese History and the Kobe City Museum being NMTH’s collaborators, representatives from the two museums have been appointed to oversee the delivery of loaned artifacts to NMTH and assist in setting up the exhibition. The collection features exquisite items, including ancient drawings, ceramics, and lacquerware.

This exhibition will take place at the NMTH from Feb. 1 to June 30. To celebrate the opening on Feb. 2, the public is provided with free shuttle buses and free entry to the museum. For more information, please visit NMTH’s website and their Facebook page
