S.Y.S. Memorial Hall to mark its 50th anniversary with two large-scale exhibitions

The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is celebrating its 50th anniversary with two large-scale exhibitions titled "The 50th Anniversary Collection Special Exhibition (逸韻仙蹤—建館50週年典藏特展)" and "The 50 Anniversary History Special Exhibition (五十而立—建館50週年館史展)," displaying precious historical materials on an extensive scale for the first time. Both exhibitions will be held simultaneously from May 12 to June 13.

"The 50th Anniversary Collection Special Exhibition" consists of four major subjects: "Art as Propaganda: Chungshan Theory and Collected Calligraphy and Painting," "Art Heritage: Senior Painters' Artworks,” "Glory of Chungshan: Chungshan Art and Literature Award Winners' Works" and "Future Prospect: Selection of Competition Winning Works and Hall Collections." At the exhibition, five precious calligraphy works by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, which were collected by KMT Party History Institute, will be showcased to the public for the first time. The exhibited works include "Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Handwritten Biography," "Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Grade Report of The College of Medicine for Chinese, Hong Kong," "Letter to James Cantlie," "The World for All People" and "Fraternity."

On the other hand, "The 50 Anniversary History Special Exhibition" is designed from the citizens' angle and generally chronologically divided into five categories: "The Birth of the Classic Architecture," "The Ordinary and Extraordinary of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall," "The Image Representation and Thinking Trace of Dr. Sun Yat-sen," "The Inclusiveness of the Auditorium," and "The Shared Future of You and Me." In addition, two corridors named "Find the Devil Details of the Architecture" and "Your Wall of Golden Awards," are also set up for visitors to relive precious memories of various events held in the S.Y.S Memorial Hall in the past.
